Career Choices

You hire a servant  - if it's like a INR 7500 per month contract, say morning 9 AM to 7 PM , your blood will boil if you see him/her idle for say an hour - often the person will be assigned the task of dusting the furniture , if there is nothing else to give - it's a time driven contract and thus being engaged during the entire duration is a KRA - staying busy is an imperative

You hire an electrician or plumber - he / she quotes say Rs 150 for the job , completes it's ASAP , you don't bother if it's done in minutes or hours. It's an outcome based contract

Of course the electrician or plumber earns more also - but for that , he/she needs to demonstrate capability and also market the skills in the entire locality - often it spreads quickly through word of mouth also

In Financial Modeling also, you may choose to be hired by an organization for an year for say 10 lacs p.a. under a time driven contract and often do a lot of dusting in between important tasks - just to show that you are busy

OR

Graduate to a reputation where they pay you the same Rs 10 lacs for preparing a financial model. It's an outcome based contract and you can choose to even do sun-bathing on a beach for the remaining part of the year
